Fifteen on the board, two in the office.
The Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, SwedCham, is a non-profit, non-governmental membership-based organisation representing Swedish businesses in Singapore. Established almost 40 years ago, SwedCham now connects over 500 active members from close to 90 companies across numerous industries.
What the chamber says it is
Their own words, off their about page, quoted rather than paraphrased.
SwedCham is dedicated to fostering a vibrant, connected business community between Sweden and Singapore. All members can benefit from the network’s extensive knowledge base and opportunity-rich platforms for connecting with like minded professionals in both countries.
We are a dynamic and innovative platform for knowledge-sharing, business development, and networking. Together with our big fleet of Swedish MNCs and start-ups, we promote innovation, technology, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and diversity in everything we do.
We value our host nation and have created a strong connection to important Singaporean stakeholders through various local outreach initiatives.

Sweden and Singapore, in their account of it
Two small nations with a long trading history, as their about page puts it.
With a longstanding history of trade between them, Sweden and Singapore have built strong economic foundations rooted in trade, innovation and exchange. These two small yet mighty nations have impressive track records. Sweden has one of the highest number of multinational corporations per capita and Singapore boasts one of the world’s most open and competitive economies.
As the two nations continue to create meaningful partnerships based on research, innovation, development, and sustainability efforts, the future potential for this dynamic duo is only growing.
The board
The board as the chamber publishes it, in its order, with the employer it prints against every name. No portrait is shown for any of them, because the chamber publishes none and a photograph found somewhere else is one the person did not put there for this.
Two further seats are held without election, and two more people are named as the election committee.
The office
The whole secretariat, as their own page lists it. Two people carry a diary of monthly market outlooks, quarterly socials, cross chamber evenings and an annual ball, under a board of fifteen and three member driven committees. That ratio is the most useful thing this page can tell a prospective member about how the chamber actually runs.
What the chamber has started, with the date against each
Their own index of what the chamber has started, in their order, with the date each entry is filed under on their site. It reaches back to 2018 and the oldest thing on it, the Midwinter Ball, is dated by their copy to 1985.
Since 1985, the Midwinter Ball has been SwedCham’s most anticipated annual gala, gathering over 200 distinguished guests for an unforgettable evening of celebration and connection.

This challenge-based initiative encouraged members to make a zero plastic waste resolution in 2018 and involved halting the use of single-use plastic bottles or cups in their workplaces.
The Green Innovation Centre
One initiative that has a measured report behind it, which is rare enough on this cohort to be worth its own section.
The Swedish Chamber of Commerce has long championed the strong commitment to sustainability exhibited by its member companies. To lead the way, SwedCham embarked on a project four years ago where we linked arm with a garden community in Bukit Batok (Cosy Garden), a local authority (South West CDC) as well as Bukit Batok’s Grassroot Organisations to launch a unique collaborative initiative, sponsored by 13 Swedish MNCs: The Green Innovation Centre.
Tulya Pte Ltd has supported the Green Innovation Center with the impact measurement to estimate and communicate the project’s contribution to Singapore and its Green Plan 2030. Five main impact categories were defined at the beginning of the project: garden visit engagement, impact from sustainable features, impact from activities, recycling drives and enabling collaborations.

Team Sweden, and the chambers across the region
The network this chamber says it built, grouped as its own page groups it. Their about page states the claim that goes with it: a knowledge sharing network of the Swedish Chambers in the APAC region.
A network of over five hundred people, from close to ninety companies.
As part of Team Sweden, SwedCham joins forces with the Swedish Embassy as well as Business Sweden, to promote success beyond borders.
